- Cup of Joy Bible Studies: Higher Grounds
-
"Higher Grounds" is a time of Bible study and reflection on the Word of God. We believe that there is no better way to know God than to spend time with Him and to learn His Word. This belief is grounded in the truth of Hebrews 4:12, “The Word of God is living and active, sharper than a two-edged sword.”
Each session is led by Doris Bowen and other guest speakers. Higher Grounds meets on a weekly or bi-weekly basis to study God’s Word.
Women from all walks of life and different church affiliations attend Higher Grounds. We have had married and single women, new mothers and grandmothers, some women who are in other Bible studies and Community Groups and others who have been entirely new to Bible study. We welcome any woman who desires to have an opportunity to study and be reminded of the joy that comes with learning how to be still and reflect upon God’s glory.

- Cup of Joy Retreats
-
Each Cup of Joy Weekend is tailored for the specific purpose of allowing you time to get alone with your Heavenly Father. Our busy schedules often do not allow for time alone with God. Jesus “got away” with His disciples many times during His three years of fellowship with them. Cup of Joy recognizes the need for this time away. The foundation for this aspect of Cup of Joy is found in Mark 6:31, which says, “Come away with me to a quiet place and rest awhile.”.
We build the weekend schedule around time to “get away” with Him. We also take time to worship the Lord through song and praise each day. We are blessed to have our worship time led by Candi Pearson-Shelton. www.candilion.com
Weekend sessions are led by Doris Bowen. She incorporates humor, personal testimony, scriptural teaching and life application into each session.
Fellowship with other women and free time on Saturday afternoon are also important aspects of the Cup of Joy weekend. Our prayer is that you will leave with a renewed desire to be still and reflect on the glory of God. Find out about our next retreat by visiting Events.
- Cup of Joy House Parties
-
Life is often compared to a race. How are you running your race? Are you running to win? How do you maintain a winner's mentality? If you are feeling like you are almost ready to drop out of the race, or are running and cannot see the finish line in sight, this House Party is for you!
Cup of Joy House Parties is our latest and greatest endeavor to plug women into Cup of Joy and to learn about the heartbeat of our ministry. This setting allows you to invite your neighbors, friends, etc. out for an evening to fellowship with one another while learning about how we can continue running in our race. In Hebrews 12:1 it says, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” Come join other runners who have learned how to run without getting tired or thirsty. We would love to be able to stand on the sidelines and cheer for you as you run the race that is set before you! Everyone needs a cheering section! Learn more about hosting a House Party or attending one near you by using our House Party form.
- Cup of Joy Pouring Out Events
-
As our cups are filled by amazing worship, fellowship, bible study, and teaching, we see the need for women to also “pour out” of their own cups and serve others. Our Pouring Out volunteers take part in serving at various Cup of Joy functions but also in servitude to other ministries and organizations that need our help. If you feel led to join us as we pour out please complete the volunteer form.
