For Dot Bowen, what began in 2003 as a simple longing from Mark 6:31, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest,” has grown into ongoing weekly Bible studies, two annual retreats, and seasonal gatherings impacting hundreds of women. Cup of Joy prays that every woman has the opportunity to know their Heavenly Father personally and delight in His truths. Cup of Joy is all about women enjoying the greatness of God!

THE BIBLE

We believe that all scripture is “God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness”. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, timeless and living Word of God.

GOD

We believe that there is one true God – Sovereign and Creator of all things on heaven and earth. God exists in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – the Trinity. God is all-powerful, all knowing and present in all things – full of mercy and love.

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Holy Spirit was given to mankind to be the Helper and Comforter. The Holy Spirit provides guidance and truth. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit occurs at the moment of salvation and provides direction as we strive to live a godly life.

JESUS CHRIST

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin and made man, who dwelt among us. He lived a sinless life, suffered, died on the cross and rose again in victory. His death on the cross was the ultimate sacrifice for the sin of mankind.
